Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. President Salva Kiir Mayardiit today met Kenya's president to discuss joint infrastructure projects

South Sudan president his excellency Salva Kiir Mayardiit today met with his counterpart the president of Kenya his excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto to discuss collaborative infrastructure projects. 


The two Head of States come into an agreement to expand bilateral ties in investment, trade and infrastructure development to enhance Regional co-operation. 


During his stay in Kenya, President Salva Kiir Mayardiit witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a fiber optic cable along Eldoret-Juba highway to enhance internet connectivity between the two great nations. 


Fiber optic cables, are mostly used for optical communication for example long-distance telecommunication or providing high-speed data connection between different parts of a building. 


The two leaders also discussed peace in the region, with focus on de-escalation of the armed conflict in the Sudan. 


The Heads of State also discussed implementing the infrastructural projects under the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport Corridor project( LAPSSET).


President Salva Kiir Mayardiit and the accompanying delegation returned to Juba this evening and was received by the first Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny and other senior government officials.
