President Salva Kiir Mayardiit has received a report from Vice President for Infrastructure Cluster Taban Deng Gai on his recent participation at the second Russian-African Summit.


Speaking to the media, VP Taban said African leaders used the event to call for peace between Russia and Ukraine.


He added that South Sudan's delegation held a number of sideline meetings, encouraging Russian entrepreneurs to come and invest in the country in a wide range of areas, including mining and education among others.


The VP was accompanied by Acting Foreign Minister Deng Dau Deng,  Minister of Mining Martin Abucha, and the First Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Kuol Daniel Ayulo.
