South Sudan’s Caretaker Minister of Presidential Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima, has held talks with Ethiopia’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Delil Kedir Bushra, on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on diplomatic relations and cooperation, with the two officials also exchanging views on the current situation in South Sudan, Ethiopia and the wider region. Ambassador Delil Kedir said the discussions provided an opportunity to share perspectives on regional developments and matters of mutual interest.  Tonj State Director of Physical Infrastructure tells the people of Tonj and all Junubin that the airstrip is on a verge of being extended.
 
The construction requires a big space and also the houses that are going to be demolished its owners have to compensated, after that period then we start said Mr. Angelo Akuei.

He further discloses that they have registered 672 people before evacuating them to another area.Those who processed their documents already should not be charged again and compensation should be done to those with buildings, he explains.

 
One of the residents who are close to the airstrip Mr. Victor Mawien Akoon, appreciates the plan of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure because it is dangerous for those near the airstrip.
 
The leaders of Tonj state are now waiting for the dry season to commence so as they can kick start the project of extending the airstrip.

Thirty Five (35) People Confirmed Dead In Kapoeta Flood.

Governor of Kapoeta Stats Hon. Louis Lobong Lojore confirmed to the media that after a heavy rain in Kapoeta on Tuesday 35 people lost their lives.  The same rain hit various parts of South Sudan like Duk in Jonglei whereby people also died.   Hon. Lobong said that "We lost about 35 people during the heavy rains that hit several counties in the state on 10 June, so this is what happened here."  He added that the flood destroyed people homes and even destroy the bridges.  “We are trying to create awareness among our people to control water-borne diseases,” he said. The flood affected the market in Kapoeta since it cleared all the food store in Kapoeta State. He added.  Finally he is calling out to the humanitarian organization to come and rescue his people plus the government too since many people are dire need of help.  More to come shortly....

Uror County: Two People Killed and 260 Cattles Raided

Cattle raiders raided Uror County of Jonglei State and left two people dead and stole 260 herds of Cattles local official said.  Hon. Machot Gatluak Uror County Commissioner confirmed the incident while speaking to the media.  The commissioner said that the incidents happened in two separate attacks launched by armed groups since Friday.  “The first incident occurred in Karam Payam where a group of seven men attacked a family house on Friday at around 7 pm, shooting dead an elderly man,” Machot said. “In Motot Payam, 150 cows were raided from Rubmaker village at 11:40 pm the same day while 20 minutes later (12 am), 110 cows were raided from Padien village. Also, a herdsman was killed, and several cows were raided Saturday at 12 pm in an attack on Pulchuol.”-County Commissioner said.  The Commissioner was blaming the GPAA Greater Pibor Administrative Area, saying the armed came from GPAA.  John Samuel Manyuon, Jonglei Information Minister confirmed the allegation...
