SPLM Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, Unity, and Democratic Transition in Christmas Message ‎

‎Juba, December 24, 2025 ‎The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and a democratic future for South Sudan in a Christmas message issued by its Secretary General, Dr. Akol Paul Koordit. ‎ In the message dated 24 December 2025, released by the Office of the Secretary General at the SPLM National Secretariat, the ruling party extended warm Christmas greetings to South Sudanese citizens at home and in the diaspora, calling on the nation to reflect on shared values of peace, compassion, and national cohesion. ‎ “Christmas is a sacred season that calls upon us to reflect on the enduring values of peace, unity, compassion, and service,” the message reads. ‎ Peace, Elections, and National Cohesion ‎ Dr. Koordit emphasized that these values form the foundation upon which the SPLM was established and continues to guide its responsibility to serve the people and the country. ‎ The SPLM reiterated its dedication to: ‎ Peace and inclus...

Northern Bahr El Ghazal people expresses their readiness for the discussion to Join the National Dialogue.

The people of Northern Bahr El Ghazal last month were consulted on problem facing South Sudan and the possible solutions, and they responded nicely and cooperated say Mr. Kuol Athiang Mawiel sub-committee Chairperson of the national dialogue.

 
 
He further added that the committee did not experience any interference or hostilities from the Northern Bhar El Ghazal States. He expresses happiness for the support Aweil community rendered to the committee during the consultation process.
  
Stephen Ajongo Akol, a member of the sub-committee, says the process went well. He adds that the people raised fundamental problems facing South Sudan and possible ways for resolving them.

A group of 5 National Dialogue sub committee went to Northern Bhar El Ghazal comprises of five people and eight technical officers.

The other sub committees will be expected to go to the other states which have not yet been visited by the national dialogue sub committee team.

Tiger Division Commander Reshuffles Kiir’s Security Team, Bars Two Senior Officers from Accessing President

‎ ‎The commander of South Sudan’s elite presidential guard, Major General Philip Nyon, has carried out sweeping changes within the close protection team guarding President Salva Kiir Mayardit.  ‎ The dramatic shake-up, which has already stirred speculation across the capital, saw two senior officers removed from their influential positions and barred from accessing the head of state. ‎ ‎According to multiple sources, Brigadier General Bang Wieu, who previously headed the close presidential protection unit, has been dismissed and replaced by Brigadier General Madut Ayai.  ‎ In a parallel move, Colonel Mawien Garang, a longtime aide and personal assistant to the president, was also relieved of his role. ‎ ‎Both men, who have been key fixtures in Kiir’s inner circle for years, have reportedly been prohibited from entering M4, the heavily guarded close protection base near the president’s residence.  ‎ The decision effectively severs their direct access to the head of state. ...
