Unity State Embraces Peace: VP Taban’s Tour Highlights Stability and Growth ‎

Zimbabwe Army Coup


The Zimbabwe national army has successfully staged a coup which has led to President Robert Mugabe and wife to be placed under custody and the army can be seen patrolling the capital’s streets following a night of unrest that included a military takeover of the state broadcaster, Even Military tanks can be seen patrolling the road leading to President Mugabe’s Office in the capital Harare.

The Army spokesperson said early on Wednesday that the military is targeting criminals who are shielding themselves around President Mugabe and he further reassured the citizens that order will be restored immediately.

This is the statement from the military spokesperson ““We wish to make it abundantly clear that this is not a military takeover,” the army statement said. “We are only targeting criminals around (Mugabe) who are committing crimes that are causing social and economic suffering in the country in order to bring them to justice.”
