Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. Community Security Groups Held Crucial Meeting in Rumbek

 
About sixty seven Community Security Action groups on Monday discussed achievements and challenges facing them in their working areas in Rumbek, Western Lakes State.
 
The groups are tasked to monitor and report any security related matters to the organized forces especially police around Rumbek Town.
 
CEPO Lakes State Coordinator, Isaac Majier Majok, says the event is to help newly recruited members to get experiences from the old groups.
 
Majier cites lack of quick respond to the problem and mobility as some of the challenges facing community and police.
 
He urges the community to cooperate with the organized forces in maintaining peace and stability.
 
The two-day exchanged visit is expected to end late Tuesday.
