‎UN, RJMEC Raise Alarm Over Stalled Peace Deal in South Sudan

‎International bodies are sounding the alarm as South Sudan's fragile peace process teeters on the edge of collapse. The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) have warned of deepening divisions, rising insecurity, and stalled implementation of the 2018 peace deal. ‎ ‎A Dangerous Breakdown in Peace ‎The 2018 Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) brought hope to a nation shattered by civil war. But that hope is now dimming. ‎In a briefing to the UN Security Council, Guang Cong, the Deputy Head of UNMISS, revealed that over 130,000 people have been displaced in recent months due to a surge in armed violence particularly in Upper Nile and Greater Pibor.  ‎The increase in military activity and the escalation of localized conflicts have disrupted humanitarian access and eroded confidence between the signatories of the peace agreement. ‎“These are not just isolated ...

Yambio County Acquired A New Hotline Number To Combat Crime

State Police Commissioner. A new mobile hotline to fight criminals and crime in Yambio has been introduce, the state police commissioner said.

The new hotline no: 0954999666 is the new line that will be used to combat crimes Major General James Monday Enoka Said.


 
. The hotline is to help the people of Yambio in case they came face to face with criminals and this will enable to the police to respond promptly and offer assistant whenever necessary, the Major General Monday says the police and other organized forces in Gbudue State are ready to respond to any call from citizens at any time when they need help.
 
 He further called upon the civilian population to offer full support to the police as the police will also support them in short what he meant is, they should be working hand in hand.

An anonymous citizen commends the state government for introducing the hotline that will save many lives of civil population.


 
He also reiterate that the government should always be active responding to such distress call when need me and they should not ignore the calls.
