Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Wits University Of South Africa Invites South Sudanese Journalists to Attend Investigative Journalist Training

South Africa will be hosting a number of Journalists from south who will participate in the Global Investigative Journalism training in Johannesburg.

Anton Harber Head of Wits University says the event started on Wednesday mostly to support global networking on investigative reporting and many more aspect of reporting further he says the course indicates the importance of international collaboration that, supporting group work has become part of investigative journalism.

Bringing the course for the first time to Africa is to highlight the interest and the best work of investigative journalism in the continent, Harber stresses.

South Sudan Council Of Ministers Asked South Sudanese To Respect President Kiir Oder Which Bans Singing The National Anthem In His Absence.

The public is asked to observe a Presidential order banning the singing of the national anthem in the absence of the President. The council of ministers in its regular sitting on Friday resolved that the anthem is only meant for functions attended by the President “This should be strictly observed because it is not meant for everybody,” government spokesperson Michael Makuei told journalists after the meeting in Juba on Friday.  Makuei said there was a tendency for the national song to be ‘misused’ and sang at functions presided over by ministers, undersecretaries and governors. The cabinet meeting also endorsed a Presidential directive banning the military from engaging in politics.
