South Sudan’s Caretaker Minister of Presidential Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima, has held talks with Ethiopia’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Delil Kedir Bushra, on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on diplomatic relations and cooperation, with the two officials also exchanging views on the current situation in South Sudan, Ethiopia and the wider region. Ambassador Delil Kedir said the discussions provided an opportunity to share perspectives on regional developments and matters of mutual interest. East Africa Community to Participate in UN climate Change Convention in Germany

The East African Community Secretariat is taking part in the ongoing twenty-third Conference of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate from sixth to seventeenth in Bonn, Germany.
 
The EAC Secretariat is showcasing achievements and lessons learned from the implementation of climate change programmes in the region.
 
The Community participation is an opportunity for the EAC delegation to share experiences, success stories and best practices in implementing its vision 2050.
 
It is also sharing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement.
 
The EAC delegates are organizing events relating to the climate change negotiation in different exhibition areas and outside the conference premises.
 
The EAC Secretariat will take the opportunity of the Conference on climate change to engage in bilateral discussions with new and existing development partners to assist in implementing the UN Framework Convention and the Paris Agreement.

Thirty Five (35) People Confirmed Dead In Kapoeta Flood.

Governor of Kapoeta Stats Hon. Louis Lobong Lojore confirmed to the media that after a heavy rain in Kapoeta on Tuesday 35 people lost their lives.  The same rain hit various parts of South Sudan like Duk in Jonglei whereby people also died.   Hon. Lobong said that "We lost about 35 people during the heavy rains that hit several counties in the state on 10 June, so this is what happened here."  He added that the flood destroyed people homes and even destroy the bridges.  “We are trying to create awareness among our people to control water-borne diseases,” he said. The flood affected the market in Kapoeta since it cleared all the food store in Kapoeta State. He added.  Finally he is calling out to the humanitarian organization to come and rescue his people plus the government too since many people are dire need of help.  More to come shortly....
