Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. The Dutchmen Donated Six Million Dollars to South Sudan

The Holland Ambassador to South Sudan sign agreement to show that his country has donated a total of $6 million on November to South Sudan. This is to help the people of South Sudan Improve on it’s ability to be self reliant by participating in activities such as fishing, crop-production and many more..

Over 80 percent of South Sudanese solely depend on agriculture for their livelihood, yet a lack of proper fishing equipment, quality seeds and planting materials severely constrains yields, statistics indicate.
“By saving livelihoods, lives are saved,” adds the statement.
It said livestock, particularly cattle, goats and sheep are an important social and economic asset in South Sudan, and under this programme FAO will protect these assets through the vaccination and treatment campaign targeting up to 7.4 million animals.
“We are very honoured to receive this generous donation by the Government of the Netherlands, which comes at a critical time for the people of South Sudan,” said Tissot, further adding “Our latest assessments show that in 2018 FAO must respond to the highest levels of food insecurity ever reported, making this funding critical.”
 “Netherlands is very pleased to contribute, with other donors, to this programme, as it is an important element in our collective effort to improve food security in South Sudan” said Geut.
“The programme will work with 650 000 households throughout the country and help farmers, livestock keepers and fishermen, many of them women, to survive and create a decent source of living again,” he added.

South Sudan Council Of Ministers Asked South Sudanese To Respect President Kiir Oder Which Bans Singing The National Anthem In His Absence.

The public is asked to observe a Presidential order banning the singing of the national anthem in the absence of the President. The council of ministers in its regular sitting on Friday resolved that the anthem is only meant for functions attended by the President “This should be strictly observed because it is not meant for everybody,” government spokesperson Michael Makuei told journalists after the meeting in Juba on Friday.  Makuei said there was a tendency for the national song to be ‘misused’ and sang at functions presided over by ministers, undersecretaries and governors. The cabinet meeting also endorsed a Presidential directive banning the military from engaging in politics.
