Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) to increase investment in South Sudan, reveals managing director.

Kenya Commercial Bank or KCB plans to increase investment in its South Sudan, according to according Managing Director.

Roba Waqo Jaldesa told the press on Thursday that with 32 billion South Sudanese Pounds, KCB is reopening branches and introduced mobile banking to attract more customers.

He explains to reporters in Juba that KCB has 122,000 customers and is targeting 200,000 by the end of next year

Waqo said “we came to this country in 2006 as the first foreign bank and we have resiliently survived these challenges”.

He added that “we have enough capital to invest in the market, both in brick and mortar and also in terms of technology. This year we have opened one new branch and we are looking forward to opening the ones we had temporarily closed.”

“I’m confident that next year we will be strong in terms of economic growth because everything is now taking the right perspective and direction”, Waqo said.
