Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) to increase investment in South Sudan, reveals managing director.

Kenya Commercial Bank or KCB plans to increase investment in its South Sudan, according to according Managing Director.

Roba Waqo Jaldesa told the press on Thursday that with 32 billion South Sudanese Pounds, KCB is reopening branches and introduced mobile banking to attract more customers.

He explains to reporters in Juba that KCB has 122,000 customers and is targeting 200,000 by the end of next year

Waqo said “we came to this country in 2006 as the first foreign bank and we have resiliently survived these challenges”.

He added that “we have enough capital to invest in the market, both in brick and mortar and also in terms of technology. This year we have opened one new branch and we are looking forward to opening the ones we had temporarily closed.”

“I’m confident that next year we will be strong in terms of economic growth because everything is now taking the right perspective and direction”, Waqo said.
