Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. Gok State Assembly Removed Its Speaker

Gok State Speaker has been relived from his duties by God State Assembly. 

The speaker known as Veronica Umjuma Philip  was dismissed after the state members of parliament passed a decision to sack him  on 30-June-2019.

Sixteen Members of Gok State Assembly raised the motion for the removal of the speaker immediately. 

The motion was raised when the speaker posted sensitive information regarding Gok State to the Social Media and this triggered the move to sack her.

Gok State Assembly earlier this year also impeached the State Minister Of Local Government and two Commissioners and one Member of Parliament. 

Gok State is one of 32 States in South Sudan and was formerly part of the Lakes State and it boarders Tonj State and Lakes State. In 2014 Gok State Had a population of 174,460.

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting.
