Fear and Hope in Juba: 623 Arrested in Battle Against Gang Violence

‎ ‎Central Equatoria State (CES) security forces have arrested 623 individuals suspected of affiliation with notorious street gangs in Juba as part of a sweeping anti-crime operation across the capital . ‎ ‎The suspects are allegedly linked to high-profile gangs such as 4SG Slime, West Coast, ODA, Killers Gang, Black Devils, among others. ‎ ‎While detailed profiles of the detainees remain pending, officials emphasize the operation is in direct response to a recent surge in heinous criminal activity including a particularly disturbing gang rape in the Shirikat area of Juba, which sparked national outrage and hastened the crackdown.  ‎ ‎In the wake of the arrests, CES Governor Rabi Emmanuel Mujung has renewed calls for reformatory schools aimed at providing vocational training and rehabilitation for youth implicated in gang activities. ‎ ‎This includes proposals for a holistic strategy pairing enforcement with social and mental health support a key element raised during recent securi...

SPLM Hopes To Gain Peace In The Coming Round Of Peace Talk

Wau SPLM Information Secretary said that SPLM is struggling to bring peace to the country though peace talks that is being held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia in order to realize stability in South Sudan.

Mr. Jospeph Ugodo urges South Sudan people to appreciate all good contribution that party had done until the country became independent.


The Information Secretary mentions that some individuals blame the SPLM for not doing enough on peace. He urges those pessimistic about the party to see the relative stability people have in their states now.

Moses worries that there are some members who want to get to power without following democratic processes. The second phase of the revitalization forum ended in mid-February but IGAD is yet to announce when the third round will begin.

Russia to Open Embassy in Juba: A New Chapter in South Sudan–Russia Relations

Royal High School Riot In Bor Leaves Four Police Officers and Two Students Injured

Royal High Secondary school riot in Bor leaves two boys and four police officers injured. Jonglei State government has said in a statement that two boys were injured by stray bullets after police shot into the air to quell a riot by secondary school students. The incident took place this morning in Royal High School, Bor. The State Minister of Information, Atong Kuol Manyang alleges that the students had locked the main gate and some teachers inside the offices prompting the headmaster to call the police. When the police arrived, the student hurled stones at the police causing the police to respond by firing into the air. The Minister adds that a stray bullet that was shot into the air fell onto a 10 year old boy’s foot some 200m away. A 20 year student was also shot in the thigh by a suspected stray bullet.
