Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. SPLM Hopes To Gain Peace In The Coming Round Of Peace Talk

Wau SPLM Information Secretary said that SPLM is struggling to bring peace to the country though peace talks that is being held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia in order to realize stability in South Sudan.

Mr. Jospeph Ugodo urges South Sudan people to appreciate all good contribution that party had done until the country became independent.


The Information Secretary mentions that some individuals blame the SPLM for not doing enough on peace. He urges those pessimistic about the party to see the relative stability people have in their states now.

Moses worries that there are some members who want to get to power without following democratic processes. The second phase of the revitalization forum ended in mid-February but IGAD is yet to announce when the third round will begin.

South Sudan Army Invades Uganda

South Sudan People’s Liberation Army yesterday night got involved in a serious gunfight with the (UPDF) Uganda People’s Defence Force. The main reason of the show down is because UPDF believes SPLA Army has Invaded Uganda. It is believed that the South Sudan People’s Army (SPLA) has entered the counry through the West Nile Region into the following areas; Metu and Dufele in the District of Moyo. The West Nile regional police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia said the militants were suspected to be harboring the intentions of looting cattle from the residents. Angelina Teny and South Sudan First Lady To Hold Debate On Thursday Regarding Importance Of Women In South Sudan

Catholic University Of South Sudan on Thursday will host a high level panel to look into: 1. The role that our mothers or Women play in the current peaceful process in South Sudan. The high level panel debate is supposed to be a roadmap for the current peace process in South Sudan. The debate will also look into Sexual Gender Based Violence.  This will be dealt with in accordance to the cessation of hostilities.
