Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. SPLM Hopes To Gain Peace In The Coming Round Of Peace Talk

Wau SPLM Information Secretary said that SPLM is struggling to bring peace to the country though peace talks that is being held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia in order to realize stability in South Sudan.

Mr. Jospeph Ugodo urges South Sudan people to appreciate all good contribution that party had done until the country became independent.


The Information Secretary mentions that some individuals blame the SPLM for not doing enough on peace. He urges those pessimistic about the party to see the relative stability people have in their states now.

Moses worries that there are some members who want to get to power without following democratic processes. The second phase of the revitalization forum ended in mid-February but IGAD is yet to announce when the third round will begin.

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting.
