Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. South Sudan Government Has Other Options If Peace Talks Fails With The Oppositions

The South Sudan Spokesperson said that the government of South Sudan will decide other options if talks with the opposition fails in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.

 After the council of ministers meeting on Friday, when Mr. Makuei Lueth was asked to mention the other options he failed to mention it.

 He adds that the government is still focusing on the High-Level Revitalization Forum schedule to take place this month.

The government recently has registered its displeasure about the venue being still in Ethiopia. They want the venue to change because of the political situation in Ethiopia.

The Government Spokesman further said that the government team is ready to go to Ethiopia this month for the Next round of the Revitalization Forum.

The next round of the High-Level Revitalization Forum is expected to take place on April 26 in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting.
