450 people are confirmed to be HIV/AIDs positive in Tonj

HIV/AIDs is on the rise in Tonj after over 400 people have been confirmed to be HIV/AIDs positive, this is the result from all the counties from the state.
It is confirmed that the majority of the HIV/AIDs have been identified to be residing in the town part of Tonj and a few hundred from the villages. This statistics gives us a clear picture on the ignoring of the Netizen of Tonj State and the lack of knowledge on the importance of using condoms.

According to the director Mr Jok Yor, he said that 421 are residing in the town, and 5 are from the area of Palal and the rest which is twenty-one in number are from the counties of Marial. The director further added that most people from Tonj do not know their HIV/AIDs status and he is urging the majority of the population of Tonj to turn up in numbers for HIV/AIDs testing.

South Sudan HIV/AIDs rise is rising at an alarming rate and the citizens should always try to abstain from sex until marriage, use condoms when they can't control their urge for sex. The issue of cultural initiation could also be a major factor in the rise of HIV/AIDs in South Sudan.

The patients with HIV/AIDs should not be stigmatised, they should be shown love since in various cases people with HIV/AIDs have been stigmatized which is one of the main reasons the HIV/AIDs patients normally ends death because of the stigma.
