‎SSPDF Issues 24-Hour Ultimatum to Armed Youth Advancing from Pibor Toward Jonglei

  ‎South Sudan army, (SSPDF,) has warned a group of heavily armed youth said to be coming from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) and heading toward Jonglei State to stop their advance or face serious military action. ‎ ‎The Army said in a statement that its surveillance planes spotted large movements of armed youth over the past three days.  Secret intelligence from inside sources also suggested the group might be planning attacks in southern and eastern parts of Jonglei. ‎ ‎Speaking in the statement, army spokesman Maj. Gen. Wau State Governor Visits Tonj State To Discuss Ways Of Implementing The Peace Resolution

Hon. Angelo Taban the Wau State Governor visits Tonj State to discuss the peace implementation and resolution. 

Wau State Governor met with his counterparts from Tonj and Gogrial State.  

Wau State Governor was also accompanied with some of his State Ministers and also his security details.  

His main mission of travelling to Tonj State was to discuss ways of dissemination of the agreed 23 recommendations that was earlier discussed in the previous meeting.  
 
The three Governors held the meeting in Pakadit Tonj State.

Top Opposition General Joins Government Forces in South Sudan

‎A senior opposition army officer has left his group and joined the government army in South Sudan. Brigadier General Adnan Alex Boboya, who was part of the SPLA-IO (the main opposition army), said he has decided to support peace and work with the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF), which is the national army. ‎ ‎Speaking in Yei River County, Gen. Boboya said, “I am doing this for the good of my people and my country. It is time for peace. ‎ Suspended commissioner of Nasir County.  ‎Tensions are escalating in Upper Nile State after Governor Gen. James Koang Chuol suspended the Commissioner of Nasir County, James Gatluak Lew Thiep, a senior member of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-in-Opposition (SPLM-IO). ‎ ‎The move, issued in a gubernatorial order on Friday, provides no official explanation and comes amid growing cracks in South Sudan’s unity government, formed under the fragile 2018 peace agreement between President Salva Kiir and First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar. ‎ ‎Hon.
