Dr. Riek Machar Removed Adar State SPLM-IO Governor


Dr. Riek Machar removed Adar State Governor and his counterpart for failing to stop the fighting between civilians and the SPLM-IO armed forces 
Governor Stephen Pal Kun was replaced immediately by Stephen Loma in a decree on August 5 by Dr. Riek Machar.  
The deputy governor of Adar State was also replaced by Koang Ruot Luach. 
Deputy SPLM-IO Manawa Peter Gatkuoth said that “The changes are definitely connected to the recent incidents in Mawut town. When people die, a decision has to be made.”
The decree came after armed youths fought with the SPLM-O fighters loyal to Dr. Riek Machar.
