U.S. Blames Kiir for Slow Peace Implementation as UN Extends Sanctions on South Sudan

‎The United States has accused President Salva Kiir's government of failing to make sufficient progress in implementing South Sudan’s peace agreement, following the United Nations Security Council’s decision to extend sanctions and the arms embargo on the country for another year. ‎ ‎Addressing the UN Security Council, the United States said the continued sanctions were necessary due to ongoing delays in the implementation of the 2018 Revitalized Peace Agreement and the deteriorating political and security situation in the country. ‎ ‎Washington argued that South Sudanese leaders have not demonstrated enough commitment to advancing key reforms required under the peace deal, including security arrangements, political reforms, and preparations for national elections. ‎ ‎The renewed measures include the continuation of the arms embargo, travel restrictions, asset freezes, and the mandate of the UN Panel of Experts monitoring the sanctions regime until May 2027. ‎ ‎The U.S. delegation ...

SPLM-IO Rebels Attacked Imatong State





Mr. Albiolo Tobiolo has said that the stormig of Ayachi County Military Outpost is a clear violation of ceasefire Agreement that was signed in Addis Ababa last Month.
 
The governor further explained that the area came under heavy attack on Friday morning that left one soldier wounded and the ones reported dead is not yet clear.
 
The governor condemns the attack and calls on armed men to adhere to the agreement.
 
Alberio calls on the local population not to worry as the government is working hard to bring the situation under control.
