Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. Members Of Parliament Keen To See The National Dialogue End Positively




The Chairperson Of The Information Committee In the Parliament, says The Members of the Legislative Assembly are keen to see the National Dialogue end positively.
 
Mr. Paul Bonju reiterated that it will be an insult to all South Sudanese if the National Dialogue do not end positively and that all the MPs are hoping for a more positive outcome.
 
He calls on the executive not to see journalists as soldiers and their cameras and recorders as guns.
 
Yoane points out that journalists and many South Sudanese are traumatized because their freedom of expression is abused.
 
UNDP Country Director, Kamil Kamal Aldin says the National Dialogue should be used for making peaceful society.


 
Freedom of expression should not be restricted to a specific sector, but be for all stakeholders, he notes.
 
The official were addressing high level forum on freedom of expression on Thursday in Juba.
 
The forum was under the theme: “Fostering freedom of expression and access to information to create conducive environment for national dialogue and peace building”.
