U.S. Blames Kiir for Slow Peace Implementation as UN Extends Sanctions on South Sudan

‎The United States has accused President Salva Kiir's government of failing to make sufficient progress in implementing South Sudan’s peace agreement, following the United Nations Security Council’s decision to extend sanctions and the arms embargo on the country for another year. ‎ ‎Addressing the UN Security Council, the United States said the continued sanctions were necessary due to ongoing delays in the implementation of the 2018 Revitalized Peace Agreement and the deteriorating political and security situation in the country. ‎ ‎Washington argued that South Sudanese leaders have not demonstrated enough commitment to advancing key reforms required under the peace deal, including security arrangements, political reforms, and preparations for national elections. ‎ ‎The renewed measures include the continuation of the arms embargo, travel restrictions, asset freezes, and the mandate of the UN Panel of Experts monitoring the sanctions regime until May 2027. ‎ ‎The U.S. delegation ...

SPLM-IO Abducted 10 Civilians






The Opposition group loyal to former Vice President Dr. Riek Machar has abducted from Deim Zuber IDP Camp Three girls and Seven Boys totaling to a number of ten says the SPLM-IO spokesperson.

The captives have been taken to unknown place, but the motive behind remains unknown. Brigadier General Lul Ruai Koang says.



He further accuses the SPLM-IO of continues attacks in Fashoda and Fangak States in former greater Upper Nile. The Spokesperson expects that the IO will attack SPLA's positions around Malakal anytime.

He also urges for the speedy release of the abducted people.
