SPLM Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, Unity, and Democratic Transition in Christmas Message ‎

Governor Futuyo Distance Himself From Embezzlement Scandal, Calls for Auditing


Alfred Futuyo Kara the governor of Western Equatoria State is accusing education officials in Mundri East and West of Embezzling education funds.

He didn't name the corrupt officials but said that the officials of former 32 states and some officials from the current government are responsible for the embezzled funds. 

In his owned words quoted below “I am asking the Director-General of Education in Mundri West and East Counties to inform us where and how they spend the 6 million pounds that have been transferred to them every month,”-Futuyo.

Futuyo said that he tried to to talk with the cashiers but it was hard, “the cashiers of the defunct states for auditing, but they kept refusing to come.”

His comments came after he was accused by the National Minister of Education of looting 100 million SSP.

It was alleged that he used the 100 million SSP to pay the commissioners in Western Equatoria State. 

The current Western Equatoria State Education Minister, Hon Grace Apollo distance herself from the scandal. 

So the Governor is asking for the National Government to come and do some auditing for the truth to surface.
