Nasir Trial Adjourned as MP Gatwech Lam Puoch Begins Defense ‎

‎The Special Court handling the Nasir incident has adjourned proceedings until Monday, June 15, after the third accused, MP Gatwech Lam Puoch, began presenting his defense. ‎ ‎Gatwech, a member of the National Legislative Assembly representing Nasir County, rejected allegations linking him to activities related to the Nasir incident.  ‎ He told the court that his actions were part of his constitutional duties as an elected representative and were aimed at reducing tensions in Nasir and Ulang counties. ‎ ‎The lawmaker said a press conference cited by prosecutors was intended to encourage dialogue, address rumors, and help prevent conflict rather than incite violence.  ‎ He maintained that he was fulfilling his responsibility to represent and speak on behalf of his constituents. ‎ ‎Gatwech also argued that the Nasir crisis should be viewed within the wider context of challenges facing the implementation of the 2018 peace agreement, citing concerns raised by various political act...

Bobby Longar Akok Sentenced To death By Hanging

 


National Security officer Mr. Bobby Longar Akok was sentenced to death by the Juba High court.

Mr. Longar was convicted for the murder of his wife and her presumed love Mr. Chris in June at Bedouin Hotel. The two families were given. Chance to chose blood compensation or the death Penalty. 

The Judge said that the wit ess produced evidence that confirms that the accused Bobby Longar shot his wife and friend Chris with five bullets each, killing them on the spot. 

Gen. Kuol Manyang Said That Our Suffering Is Biblical Curse

After being chance to deliberate on the sentencing the families of the two victims on Friday asked the court to hang the National Security officer to death by hanging.

The Judge said that "this s court has sentenced Bobby Longar Akok to death by hanging for violating Article 206 of the Penal Code 2008,"Judge Sabor said.

SPLM Secretary General Lam Both In Germany For Treatment

The presiding judge, however, recommended to the higher authorities that the sentence be changed from a death sentence by hanging to life imprisonment.
