13 Killed in Jonglei Clashes Over Disputed Fishing Ground.

‎Jonglei State, South Sudan. At least 13 people have been killed and more than 20 others injured in renewed communal clashes between the Hol and Ayual communities in Jonglei State, officials confirmed on Thursday. ‎ ‎The deadly fighting broke out on Wednesday at Bioth-Agany Fishing Island, a disputed area between Duk and Twic East counties, after armed youth from the Hol community of Duk reportedly launched an attack on the island currently claimed by the Ayual community of Twic East. ‎ ‎Twic East County Commissioner Juach Arok Juach stated that seven people from his community were killed, seven others wounded, and four remain missing. He added that Hol youth are still occupying the area and tensions remain high. ‎ ‎On the other side, Duk County Commissioner John Chatim confirmed six deaths and 14 injuries among the Hol community.  ‎ ‎“We are urging our youth to cease fighting and allow the government to take over the matter and investigate. SPLM-IO: Lack Of Food And Essential Items May Delay Assembly Of -IO Forces At Cantonment Sites

The Deputy Spokesperson of the SPLA-IO says a lack of food and essential items may delay the assembly of opposition forces at cantonment sites beyond the July 31st deadline. 

Colonel Lam Paul Gabriel says the SPLA-IO has been working to meet tomorrow’s deadline but are finding it increasingly difficult without the basic services. 

The Joint Transitional Security Committee instructed government and opposition forces to assemble at their barracks and cantonment sites by July 31st.

Col Gabriel says the process will be fast-tracked when expected consignments of food are delivered in the coming days.

    yes as u said Mr spokesperson the delayment of Salvisto Kiiry makes thing unconfirmed rather than the 2015 peace agreement we condemn this in barbaric acts we asks international community to implies up funds so that the agreement will be bridged

Mass Defection of Opposition Forces (SSOA) Threatens South Sudan's Fragile Peace Deal ‎

‎ A group SSOA defectors.  ‎More than 2,300 security personnel formerly aligned with the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) have defected to join the ranks of the government under President Salva Kiir, in a development that could significantly destabilize the 2018 peace agreement. ‎ ‎According to Samir, one of the commanders leading the defection, the group includes 105 army officers, 650 police officers, 668 prison service officers, 400 wildlife officers, and 506 fire brigade officers. ‎ ‎“We renounce all duties assigned to us under SSOA and are now under the command of the president,” Samir declared.  ‎ ‎He called on other opposition forces across the country to follow suit, in what appears to be a strategic consolidation of power under Kiir. ‎ ‎David John Kumuri, the public relations director for the National Security Service, welcomed the defectors and assured them of their safety.  ‎ ‎He said that, “this move demonstrates a commitment to peace and national unity...
