Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. South Sudan President Issued A Public Apology To Civil Servants Over Six Months Salary Delay

South Sudan President publicly apologized to the civil servants over delay to pay the civil servants salary arrears for six months.  
Kiir made the speech during South Sudan independence day celebrations in Juba and assured the civil servants that their outstanding salary will be paid in full soon.  
President Kiir also said that he understands the living conditions in the country and blame it to the civil war tearing the nation apart.  
“I am fully aware that our people are hungry because of the difficult living conditions imposed upon them by insecurity and economic hardships. This is further exacerbated by the failure of my government to pay the salaries of our civil servants on time. However, that salary maybe little, It does make some difference in the livelihood of the families of our civil servants.” 
“I want to sincerely apologize to you my people on my own behalf and on behalf of the government for those failures.”
“My government undertook several resolutions directing the ministry of finance and planning to pay all the outstanding arrears of our workforce and scheduled prompt payment of salaries to the employees of the government Republic of South Sudan at both the national and states level of the government.” 
Finance Minister Salvatore also said that “The first two months had already been paid, we are now going to two months, which one month is going to be started tomorrow, then the second month.”
The Finance Minister reiterated that “They may confuse that may the employees may be told its only one month. But if the first one is finished then the employees will know which months are coming. So now we are in the third month for salaries payment, and the fourth one is coming. It’s already approved yesterday,” said the minister of finance and planning.

South Sudanese are the leading Miraa (KHAT) Chewers in Kakuma Refugee Camp.

Kakuma Refugee Miraa chewers initially are people from the Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya origins but recently South Sudanese Miraa chewers have overtaken both Somalia and Ethiopia to become the number one Miraa Chewers in the camp. According to one of our correspondent who has been in the camp for more than (15) fifteen years he said that “The number started increasing from the year 2010 and now in the year 2019 the number is too high.” By 2 PM that is exactly the time, Miraa (KHAT) is brought to the camp via Lodwar . South Sudanese Children will be seen around 1PM loitering Somalia or Ethiopian Market waiting for Miraa. South Sudan Army Invades Uganda

South Sudan People’s Liberation Army yesterday night got involved in a serious gunfight with the (UPDF) Uganda People’s Defence Force. The main reason of the show down is because UPDF believes SPLA Army has Invaded Uganda. It is believed that the South Sudan People’s Army (SPLA) has entered the counry through the West Nile Region into the following areas; Metu and Dufele in the District of Moyo. The West Nile regional police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia said the militants were suspected to be harboring the intentions of looting cattle from the residents.
