Nasir Trial Adjourned as MP Gatwech Lam Puoch Begins Defense ‎

SPLM Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, Unity, and Democratic Transition in Christmas Message ‎

‎The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and a democratic future for South Sudan in a Christmas message issued by its Secretary General, Dr. Akol Paul Koordit.

In the message dated 24 December 2025, released by the Office of the Secretary General at the SPLM National Secretariat, the ruling party extended warm Christmas greetings to South Sudanese citizens at home and in the diaspora, calling on the nation to reflect on shared values of peace, compassion, and national cohesion.

“Christmas is a sacred season that calls upon us to reflect on the enduring values of peace, unity, compassion, and service,” the message reads.

Peace, Elections, and National Cohesion

Dr. Koordit emphasized that these values form the foundation upon which the SPLM was established and continues to guide its responsibility to serve the people and the country.

The SPLM reiterated its dedication to:

Peace and inclusive dialogue

‎National reconciliation

‎Peaceful elections

‎A democratic transition that reflects the will of the people

According to the statement, the future of South Sudan lies in its sovereignty, unity, and collective commitment to stability and democratic governance.

“Together, as comrades and compatriots, we remain committed to leading this journey collectively and responsibly,” the message stated.

Call for Unity Ahead of the New Year

As the country prepares to usher in the New Year, the SPLM called on citizens to renew their commitment to reconciliation, service, and nation-building, stressing the need to work together to build a peaceful, stable, and prosperous South Sudan for future generations.

Dr. Koordit also conveyed festive greetings and best wishes to President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the Chairman of the SPLM, as well as to party members across the country.

“May this festive season further strengthen our unity, discipline, and shared purpose as a movement,” he noted.

Blessings for the Nation

The message concluded with prayers for peace and prosperity, invoking blessings upon the SPLM and the Republic of South Sudan.
