President Salva Kiir Mayardiit Briefed on Primary School Examination Results: A Step Forward for South Sudan’s Education ‎

General Education Minister and President Salva Kiir.  ‎President Salva Kiir Mayardiit has been briefed by the Ministry of General Education and Instruction on the latest Primary School Examination results an important step in assessing the progress of South Sudan’s education system. ‎ ‎The official release of the results is expected next week, but early insights shared during the briefing paint a mixed picture. On the one hand, there’s reason for optimism.  ‎ ‎The Ministry reported improved performance in literacy and numeracy in areas like Central Equatoria, Western Bahr el Ghazal, and parts of Upper Nile.  These gains reflect recent efforts to strengthen the education sector and expand access to quality learning opportunities. ‎ ‎However, the challenges remain significant. South Sudan Lawyer: If President Kiir Bans South Sudan National Anthem Let Him Ban South Sudan Flag Too

One of the South Sudanese lawyers said that President Salva Kiir should also ban The South Sudanese flag which can be seen everywhere in the country.  

The anonymous lawyer also responded to South Sudan Information Minister remarks in which Hon. Makuei said only embassies and schools will the national anthem be allowed.  

In his own words the anonymous lawyer said that “If he [President Kiir] wants to ban the national anthem from being sung in his absence, let him ban all the flags from wherever they are. That means we won’t have flags in offices, in schools and the small flags people buy in streets during independence.”
 
The lawyer also added that “Just like you here, “national anthem” is for the nation, which means each of everybody in that nation owns it. So it’s for everybody. It’s not personal. To me, he’s personalizing the anthem. We have grown in different countries and we see national anthem is sang by everyone in Schools, meetings. So by not singing it in his absence, which means people will not have a symbol of their nation. So it doesn’t make sense to me. So if he bans it, which means he is banning the citizens from accessing what belongs to them.”

 “As a citizen of South Sudan, it is not fair. We need freedom of expression. We even need the young ones to know their national anthem. But now if he’s stopping it from being sang in his absence, how will the young ones know their citizenship”, the citizen raises her concerns.

    It's crazy and we will never developed with search leaders where is the nation heading does it mean south Sudan is for kiir and his tribe members am sorry

Top Opposition General Joins Government Forces in South Sudan

‎A senior opposition army officer has left his group and joined the government army in South Sudan. Brigadier General Adnan Alex Boboya, who was part of the SPLA-IO (the main opposition army), said he has decided to support peace and work with the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF), which is the national army. ‎ ‎Speaking in Yei River County, Gen. Boboya said, “I am doing this for the good of my people and my country. It is time for peace. Mass Defection of Opposition Forces (SSOA) Threatens South Sudan's Fragile Peace Deal ‎

‎ A group SSOA defectors.  ‎More than 2,300 security personnel formerly aligned with the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) have defected to join the ranks of the government under President Salva Kiir, in a development that could significantly destabilize the 2018 peace agreement. ‎ ‎According to Samir, one of the commanders leading the defection, the group includes 105 army officers, 650 police officers, 668 prison service officers, 400 wildlife officers, and 506 fire brigade officers. ‎ ‎“We renounce all duties assigned to us under SSOA and are now under the command of the president,” Samir declared.  ‎ ‎He called on other opposition forces across the country to follow suit, in what appears to be a strategic consolidation of power under Kiir. ‎ ‎David John Kumuri, the public relations director for the National Security Service, welcomed the defectors and assured them of their safety.  ‎ ‎He said that, “this move demonstrates a commitment to peace and national unity...
