Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Heavy Fighting Has Erupted Between Government Forces (SSPDF) And National Salvation Front (NAS) In Yei River State

National Salvation Front Spoke person Reports that Heavy fire and Heavy fighting has Erupted between The National Salvation Front and the SSPDF in Yei-Maridi Road after Government Troops came under Military ambush resulting in the loss of 5 SSPDF Officers and several soldiers suffering deadly casualties as they were airlifted to Gorom Military Hospital for treatment. 5 AK-47 Captured in good condition by the National Salvation Front.

He further added that on the 22nd of April ,2019 Government troops attacked NAS bases in Kojiko and Morobo County but we’re repulsed with heavy shillings.  We are monitoring this developing situation in Central and Western Equatoria Closely.

Also, IGAD has shown positive signs to assist President Salva Kiir in implementing the R-ARCSS on time 02-03 May, 2019 TGONU.

South Sudanese are the leading Miraa (KHAT) Chewers in Kakuma Refugee Camp.

Kakuma Refugee Miraa chewers initially are people from the Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya origins but recently South Sudanese Miraa chewers have overtaken both Somalia and Ethiopia to become the number one Miraa Chewers in the camp. According to one of our correspondent who has been in the camp for more than (15) fifteen years he said that “The number started increasing from the year 2010 and now in the year 2019 the number is too high.” By 2 PM that is exactly the time, Miraa (KHAT) is brought to the camp via Lodwar . South Sudanese Children will be seen around 1PM loitering Somalia or Ethiopian Market waiting for Miraa. This has in fact affected their afternoon classes instead of going for the afternoon classes they will be seen waiting for Miraa anxiously. Catholic University Of South Sudan on Thursday will host a high level panel to look into: 1. The role that our mothers or Women play in the current peaceful process in South Sudan. The high level panel debate is supposed to be a roadmap for the current peace process in South Sudan. The debate will also look into Sexual Gender Based Violence.  This will be dealt with in accordance to the cessation of hostilities.
