Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Logistical Issues Affecting The Process Of Cantonment Areas CTSAMVM Reports

CTSAMVM commonly know as the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism Chairperson Reports that logistics is one of the major issue affecting the cantonment area process in South Sudan. 
 
CTSAMVM Chairperson Major General Dedra Agent in his own statement said that “Regarding cantonment, the cantonment areas identified for all armies and verification process are underway, but it is far from complete as there are many logistical challenges. We appreciate the sharing of information by the JDB on this critical task” 
 
After the CTSAMVM Chairperson, Mr.  Yiwodo Otor who happens to be the leader of the SSOA which is also known as South Sudan Opposition alliance said that “Really we have some issues we need to concentrate on, issues of violations, sexual violence and other issues. As stated by the Chairman, cantonment of forces and also we need our MBTs in the areas to go and verify as soon as possible the forces on the ground to locate the cantonments”.

South Sudanese are the leading Miraa (KHAT) Chewers in Kakuma Refugee Camp.

Kakuma Refugee Miraa chewers initially are people from the Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya origins but recently South Sudanese Miraa chewers have overtaken both Somalia and Ethiopia to become the number one Miraa Chewers in the camp. According to one of our correspondent who has been in the camp for more than (15) fifteen years he said that “The number started increasing from the year 2010 and now in the year 2019 the number is too high.” By 2 PM that is exactly the time, Miraa (KHAT) is brought to the camp via Lodwar . South Sudanese Children will be seen around 1PM loitering Somalia or Ethiopian Market waiting for Miraa.
