Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. The Chairperson Of The Information Committee In the Parliament, says The Members of the Legislative Assembly are keen to see the National Dialogue end positively.   Mr. Paul Bonju reiterated that it will be an insult to all South Sudanese if the National Dialogue do not end positively and that all the MPs are hoping for a more positive outcome.   He calls on the executive not to see journalists as soldiers and their cameras and recorders as guns.   Yoane points out that journalists and many South Sudanese are traumatized because their freedom of expression is abused.   UNDP Country Director, Kamil Kamal Aldin says the National Dialogue should be used for making peaceful society.   Freedom of expression should not be restricted to a specific sector, but be for all stakeholders, he notes.   The official were addressing high level forum on freedom of expression on Thursday in Juba.   The forum was under the theme: “Fostering freedom of expression

Rebels In Wau Released Three Humanitarian Workers

Three humanitarian workers detained for more than five months have been released by the Rebels group in Wau   Yohannah Philip Augustino, Coordinator for Unity Cultural and Development Centre explains that Angelo Bencensio, Anthony Jabakan and Natale Arkangelo were released late last week.   The opposition group arrested the three aid workers in July last year when they were on assessment of food security among IDPs in Baggari area, he notes.   Philip confirms that three men are now with their families in Wau and they will resume their work soon.   The coordinator tells public that they will resume work after getting an assurance from Wau State authorities and security that they are free to move.   Philip expresses the gratitude for the efforts made by the Red Cross, the Opposition group and the government to have humanitarian aid workers freed.   “This is a good effort towards peace and development”, he stresses. SPLM/IO Namurnyang Governor Abducted In Kakuma Refugee Camp

Press Release 31/12/2017 GOVERNMENT ABDUCTED SPLM/A IO GOVERNOR MARKO LOKIDOR Late evening of 29/12/2017, the Kenyan Security kidnaped and abducted SPLM/A IO Governor for Kapoeta State; Marko Lokidor Lochapio from Kakuma Refugee camp under the watchful eyes of the UNHCR. Governor Lokidor was driven to Lokichogio that same night and yesterday 30/12/2017 in the morning hours, he was taken to Nadapal where he was handed over to South Sudan security personnel. Junub Sudan Passport printing machine is up and running

The Cabinet Secretary of Interior has reported to the cabinet that the machines for printing passports restarted working. Michael Makuei Lueth after extraordinary meeting of Council of Ministers on Wednesday advises people to go and renew their documents normally. He also warn the drivers of tainted cars to stop driving it on the roads and and who ever violates it will face the law.
