implements humanitarian relief, recovery and development projects in Africa,
seeks to qualified candidate for the position of Project Food Monitors (General
Food Distribution) for its program in South Sudan. Under the overall leadership
of the Project Officer (General Food Distribution)
Job Summary:
The Food Monitor is responsible for the day to day community
mobilization activities for general food distribution Summary of Duties &
Responsibilities
· Arrange for project entry meetings in the
project area.
· Organize and
conduct mobilization meetings for creating awareness about the project.
· Mobilize
community members to attend planning meetings, stakeholder workshop, monitoring
exercises and evaluation meetings.
· Facilitate the formation of Project
management committee and Boma project management committees.
· Together with the PMC and BPMC, organize
the registration of project beneficiaries and maintain registration records.
· Together with the PMC, BPMC participate
in the identification, registration, validation and selection of beneficiaries
for the project.
· Organize selected beneficiaries in to
manageable groups and sensitize them on their roles and the code of conduct at
food distribution sites.
· To organize,
conclude, and document monthly Food Distribution to targeted households at
pre-determined FDP sites.
· Responsible for sensitizing, mobilizing,
training, and strengthening Community Based Committees (PMC and BPMC) to verify
eligible households to receive rations during monthly distributions.
· Work closely with the Warehouse keepers
to organize food delivery to FDP sites on scheduled dates and locations.
· Responsible for accurately documenting
all recipient households receiving rations during each distribution.
· Assist the monitoring and reporting
assistant to compile, summarize, and analyze distribution and post-distribution
information.
· Together
with the community committees report any complains/ grievances arising from the
implementation of the project.
· Provide all information and data for
preparation of required reports
· Perform any
other task that may be assigned by the supervisor Person specifications · Any relevant
certificate or secondary school certificate.
· At least two years previous experience in
a similar job. Skills and Competence:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of mobilization
2. A good command of English and Arabic or the local dialect
3. Ability to work under
minimum supervision
