Project Engineer.
SunGate Solar Solutions, with headquarters in Wau and operating in Juba as well as other cities in South Sudan, is looking for a skilled, accountable, and motivated Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines involved in our projects. This position will be responsible for the development, execution, and operation of solar power systems including Microgrids. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
JOB SUMMARY:
  • Development, execution, and operation of solar PV systems of varying sizes
  • Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management and project partners
  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be South Sudanese national
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in Electrical (Power) Engineering
  • At least 2 years of Project management experience
  • Proven working experience as a project engineer
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD CAD, CAD/CAM Circuit Design
  • Familiarity with Solar PV Systems
  • Familiarity with power metering
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Time management and organization skills
  • BS degree in Engineering or relevant field
