South Sudan’s Caretaker Minister of Presidential Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima, has held talks with Ethiopia’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Delil Kedir Bushra, on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on diplomatic relations and cooperation, with the two officials also exchanging views on the current situation in South Sudan, Ethiopia and the wider region. Ambassador Delil Kedir said the discussions provided an opportunity to share perspectives on regional developments and matters of mutual interest. South Sudan First Ever Female Captain Pilots

Meet Captain Aluel James Bol and Amel Ajongo - they are the first female South Sudanese pilots.

Captain Aluel actually became the first female pilot for the whole of Sudan in 2011.

Ajongo became the second female pilot in South Sudan when she graduated in August 2018.

How many more will follow in their footsteps? And what will you tell your daughters, sisters and nieces when they speak of their seemingly impossible dreams?

We should encourage our girls to pursue their dreams rather than force them into marriage.

Thirty Five (35) People Confirmed Dead In Kapoeta Flood.

Governor of Kapoeta Stats Hon. Louis Lobong Lojore confirmed to the media that after a heavy rain in Kapoeta on Tuesday 35 people lost their lives.  The same rain hit various parts of South Sudan like Duk in Jonglei whereby people also died.   Hon. Lobong said that "We lost about 35 people during the heavy rains that hit several counties in the state on 10 June, so this is what happened here."  He added that the flood destroyed people homes and even destroy the bridges.  “We are trying to create awareness among our people to control water-borne diseases,” he said. The flood affected the market in Kapoeta since it cleared all the food store in Kapoeta State. He added.  Finally he is calling out to the humanitarian organization to come and rescue his people plus the government too since many people are dire need of help.  More to come shortly....

Juba - Nimule: Two People Killed and Two Others Injured In A Road Ambush.

Two people were killed, and two others injured in a road ambush along the Juba-Nimule highway.  The travelers were among seven passengers heading to Juba on independence morning yesterday, when the Toyota Noah they were in, came under attack in Orobe village, Lowa Boma. Pageri county commissioner, Emilio Igga says the attackers sprayed their vehicle with bullets at close range.  Igga says the injured were rushed to Nimule health facilities for treatment and security has been stepped up in the area. The incident comes amid increased reports of attempted robberies along the same route. More to come shortly...
