Nasir Trial Adjourned as MP Gatwech Lam Puoch Begins Defense ‎

‎The Special Court handling the Nasir incident has adjourned proceedings until Monday, June 15, after the third accused, MP Gatwech Lam Puoch, began presenting his defense. ‎ ‎Gatwech, a member of the National Legislative Assembly representing Nasir County, rejected allegations linking him to activities related to the Nasir incident.  ‎ He told the court that his actions were part of his constitutional duties as an elected representative and were aimed at reducing tensions in Nasir and Ulang counties. ‎ ‎The lawmaker said a press conference cited by prosecutors was intended to encourage dialogue, address rumors, and help prevent conflict rather than incite violence.  ‎ He maintained that he was fulfilling his responsibility to represent and speak on behalf of his constituents. ‎ ‎Gatwech also argued that the Nasir crisis should be viewed within the wider context of challenges facing the implementation of the 2018 peace agreement, citing concerns raised by various political act...

Troika Demands For A Serious Talk Among The Warring Parties




The parties that are currently participating in the High-Level Revitalization forum is under high scrutiny by the Troika Countries who are demanding them to engage in a serious talk in order to achieve peace in the country.

The Briton senior advisor to Junub Sudan and Sudan Mr Paul Sutphin has expressed disappointment on the various count of violation of the cease-fire agreement and cessation of hostilities which was signed on December 21, 2017.
 
He hopes the parties talk in a constructive manner to reach peace to save people suffering also Mr Chris Trot of United States of America calls for seriousness and genuine commitment to the peace talks he applauds the IGAD for their steps taken to bring South Sudan’s parties together so as to bring peace to the country. He urges the parties to stick to their obligations of implementing the signed ceasefire.
 
Mr.Trot also calls on the regional countries to call off the flow of the arms in South Sudan so that it can attain peace. Ambassador Trilling Stochinburg of Norway re-echoes commitment to the talks to yield fruits this week.
