Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. South Sudan Prosecutor Admits That Lack Of Judges Has Led To Prolong Detentions

Imatong State Public prosecutor has admitted that the prolonged detention of suspected criminals is due to inadequate judges in the state.   The public prosecutor Mr. John Wani Lado says that it is impossible for prosecutors to perfectly complete work in absence of judges.   Wani says his office is working hard to bring more law enforcement officers to ensure work is effective in the area. All Political Parties Who Signed The Cessation Of Hostilities To Attend A Revitalisation Forum In Addis Ababa

The political parties and all those who signed the agreement on cessation of hostilities are attending the revitalization forum in Addis Ababa today Monday. Joseph Ukelo, leader of United Sudan African Party expresses readiness to participate in the forum. He observes several violations of the ceasefire agreement. MrJoseph Ukelo further accuses SPLM parties for not being faithful to the agreements they signed for the sake of peace in the country. The expectation after signing 2015 peace agreement was to fulfill all the requirements and fix the time for elections, but the warring parties violated it, he regrets. Ukelo encourages South Sudanese to have hope as they go back to Addis Ababa for the revitalization forum. The leader spoke to journalists in Wau on Friday ahead of his trip to Addis.

United States Of America To Impose Arms Embargo On South Sudan

The United State will shortly announce an arms embargo against Junub Sudan on Friday, it will be done because they need to step up the Pressure on Salva Kiir to end the country's civil war and humanitarian crisis. Ambassador Nicky Haley said that  “I urge my fellow Council members to support an arms embargo. This isn’t punishment. Nor is it a meaningless gesture. It is something we can do to actually help the people of South Sudan – to slow the violence, slow the flow of arms and ammunition, and protect innocent lives,” she told the council last Wednesday. She further said that  “The time has come to acknowledge the hard reality that the leaders of South Sudan are not just failing their people, they are betraying them. South Sudanese Accused of Laziness Again

A successful Kenyan trader in Torit town is blaming South Sudan nationals over laziness in carrying out businesses to earn living.    An Excerpt taken from radio Emmanuel says that Patrick Njoroge, a Kenyan national, cheers his fellow businessmen and women in Torit to learn how to save for the progress of the their businesses. He started as an off loader in 2007, now works as a dealer in hardware materials in Torit town.   He further encourages traders in Torit to calculate their items based on the current economic situation for prosperity of their businesses. He regrets that absence of peace negatively affects business activities in South Sudan.   The businessman also admits final consumers are mostly affected by the increment of prices of items as a result of crisis. IOM Appeals For 100 Million Dollars Aid For Junub Sudan

International Organization For Migration commonly known as the IOM/OIM in Junub sudan is appealing for one hundred million US dollars to effectively provide humanitarian assistance and support transition, recovery migration management initiatives.  The needs of the humanitarian remain huge as the conditions of he civilians continue to drop and deteriorate with no hope of recovery in Junub Sudan says IOM.   It says an estimated seven million people in South Sudan need relief aid, including 1.9 million internally displaced persons or IDPs.   Sustained levels of lifesaving assistance are crucial as conditions worsen each day, says William Barriga, Chief of Mission.   He says IOM appeal seeks to support approximately one million displaced people, host communities, returnees and migrants in South Sudan. Press Release 28/01/2018 SPLA IO Released 15 POWs in Phow State. The SPLA IO 7th Division infantry combined with SPLA IO GQHS mobile force handed over 15 prisoners of war (POWS) to ICRC today 28/1/2018, at  about 10:00am in Kolopach airstrip, New Fangak, Phow State. 11 POWs refused to go to Juba due to fear of persecution from the regime. The SPLA IO welcomes their decision and gave them the freedom to live among the displaced people in the State. This is the third time the SPLA IO is showing compliance with the COH agreement signed on 21/01/2017 while other partners have not yet complied. SPLM-IO Abducted 10 Civilians

The Opposition group loyal to former Vice President Dr. Riek Machar has abducted from Deim Zuber IDP Camp Three girls and Seven Boys totaling to a number of ten says the SPLM-IO spokesperson. The captives have been taken to unknown place, but the motive behind remains unknown. Brigadier General Lul Ruai Koang says. He further accuses the SPLM-IO of continues attacks in Fashoda and Fangak States in former greater Upper Nile.
