Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. South Sudan Basketball Officials Sue Luol Deng For Defamation. 

The two official which are named: Marier Anyuay who was the secretary general a Deng Biar who was the finance secretary filed a case against the president of South Sudan Basketball Federation Luol Deng for wrongfully accussing them of forging documents and embezzling funds. 

In their defense they say the accusations which they termed as false have affected their financial and social st



atuses.

In a press conference in August, Luol was asked a question by a journalist regarding the two suspended officials, to which he responded that charges against them were serious and he would rather resign than to reinstate them and work with them again.

Luol also accused the officials of forging the federation’s documents to solicit funds without his knowledge.
