Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. South Sudan Minister Of Health Briefs President Salva Kiir On Ebola Outbreak

South Sudan President His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday was briefed by the Minister of Health, Hon. Yolanda Awel Deng on the Country’s preparedness and response plans to curb the Ebola Virus outbreak in the Country. 

The Health Minister confirmed that South Sudan is free from the Ebola Outbreak buy has received suspected cases at the boarder and the victims are under quarantine at the boarder. 

The Minister assured the public that her department is well equipped in case of an outbreak "We got only suspected cases in the isolation centers at the border and most of those cases are in stable condition. We have collected their samples, and we have sent them to be analysed, and we are still waiting for the results. “Hon. Yolanda Awel, Minister of Health, stated during the meeting on Monday.

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting. Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel.  President Salva Kiir Mayardit has appointed Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel as the Chairperson of the reconstituted Committee on Dialogue and the Final Status of Abyei with the Government of Sudan. According to the Presidential decree announced Friday in Juba, Hon. Pieng Deng Kuol has been named as Deputy Chairperson, alongside several newly appointed members tasked with steering talks aimed at reaching a lasting solution to the disputed Abyei region. The reconstitution of the committee comes at a critical time as both Juba and Khartoum seek to revive stalled negotiations over the oil-rich border area, which remains one of the key unresolved issues since South Sudan’s independence in 2011.
