Yigi Yigi Regains Freedom After Detention in Libya

South Sudanese comedian Yigi Yigi has announced that he has been released from detention in Libya after spending several days in custody while attempting to continue his journey toward Europe. Police Officer Commit Suicide in Torit State

The people of Hai Ifwanyak today were awoken to a sad morning when the news of one of the police officer was found dead in Hai Ifwanyak. The police Officer also works in the department of operations in Torit State.


It is believed that the late Mr. James Omiyang hanged himself at around 7:00 AM. In the morning hours. That was the time exactly the body was found by the relatives in Hai-Ifwanyak area in Torit.

The police Major in Torit State, Major Justine who is also the chief inspector of police in Torit state has confirmed that the cause of his death is still unknown and major investigations are underway to determine the cause of his death.



This is not the first time police or soldiers committing suicide here in South Sudan. Two months ago an officer also committed suicide in Torit State due to un-reconcilable family differences.

This calls for the government and the NGO, s working in the area to try and synthesize the armed forces since they are the one who are prone to committing suicide when things don’t work according to their way.

Major Justine also calls for the entire Torit State and South Sudan as a nation to try and co-operate with the local forces in the country. So as to improve security in the country as well as unity.

He also added that the government is trying hard to improve security in the country by trying to deploy police in all residential areas so as the people will be safe and sound. Furthermore thanks the police commissioner for improving security in Torit state
