Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Salva Kiir Mayardit the South Sudan President has admitted to the media that the country is broke and has run out of cash and there is nothing that can be done to fix it. But he also suggested that the war must stop in order for the country to start recovering. The south Sudan President gave a small reason to why South Sudan is broke stating that it is because of the war that was sparked by the power struggle and eventually the war dragged on for four years with no resolution despite or the international efforts to salvage the situation. German Ambassador To South Sudan Confirms That The Raped Allegation In Wau POC Site was True

The German High Council to South Sudan today criticizes the alleged abuse in Wau POC site by UNMISS “Ghanian Police.” It is very bad unfortunate criminal act which should not happen again, the donor community, they do not like any kind of scandal involving UN anymore says Mr. Jan Henrik Van Thiel, he further reiterates the importance of good system of monitoring and action to abuses. Earlier, UNMISS said it received a complaint from women last month, alleging that the UN police are engaged in sexual activity with displaced women. South Sudan Ranked As The Second Most Corrupt Country In The World

According to the report retrieved from Transparency International, they have listed South Sudan as the second most corrupt country in the world following it is Somalia making Somalia as the most corrupt country in the world. The report also indicated New Zealand, Finland and Denmark as the most least corrupt countries in the this country do not condone corruption and it is corruption free. “ This year, New Zealand and Denmark Ranked highest with scores of 89 and 88 respectively. Syria, South Sudan and Somalia ranked lowest with scores of 14,12 and 9 respectively. The best performing region is western Europe with an average of 66.”- Transparency International Further analysis of the results indicates that countries with the least protection for press and non governmental orgagnisations (NGOs) also tend to have the worst rates of corruption. This is not to say that the peace talks have collapsed, the stakeholders at the talks have initialed the areas agreed upon and we shall continue in phase III with the revitalization process. The SPLM/SPLA (IO) assures the people of South Sudan of our full commitment to ending the war through a negotiated settlement. This is shown by our very presence at the HLRF despite the government's lack of political will to reach such a settlement. The very fact that the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan  (ARCISS) needs revitalization, is itself a sign of this lack of political will, as they have failed to implement it.
