Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Junub Sudan Directive on Humanitarian Access Welcomed by UN

A United Nations official has welcomed South Sudan’s decision to allow free, unimpeded and unhindered movement of humanitarian organizations in the country. Alain Noudehou, the UN humanitarian coordinator, said ensuring unhindered humanitarian access is essential for saving lives of those in need of aid. "South Sudan’s humanitarian partners appreciate the step that President Kiir has taken to ensure the free movement of supplies and personnel, particularly at a time when food insecurity continues to deteriorate and humanitarian organizations face pressure to expand their response," Noudehou said in a statement. President Salva Kiir has ordered that all roadblocks be cleared immediately for international aid agencies to freely operate. Noudehou, however, said he hopes the order will positively impact on reducing the many constraints faced by humanitarian partners that delay or prevent the provision of urgently needed help and which too often place humanitarian

The Dutchmen Donated Six Million Dollars to South Sudan

The Holland Ambassador to South Sudan sign agreement to show that his country has donated a total of $6 million on November to South Sudan. This is to help the people of South Sudan Improve on it’s ability to be self reliant by participating in activities such as fishing, crop-production and many more.. Over 80 percent of South Sudanese solely depend on agriculture for their livelihood, yet a lack of proper fishing equipment, quality seeds and planting materials severely constrains yields, statistics indicate. “By saving livelihoods, lives are saved,” adds the statement.
