Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. South Sudan Need 12 Million Dollars To Prevent Ebola Virus

South Sudan is in a dire need of 12 million dollars to prevent and prepare for country in case of Ebola Virus outbreak.  The appeal came after Uganda reported Ebola Virus outbreak and over 5 people were confirmed dead.   South Sudan Minister of Health Dr. Riek Gai said that no cases of Ebola Virus has been reported yet. ‘No Ebola case found in South Sudan.“ Dr. Olushaya Olu the country representative of World Health Organization (WHO) is also appealing to United Nations High Commission For Refugees and other partners to help in funding as soon as possible.   He said preventing the disease is cheaper than treating it since treating the disease will be very catastrophic and will lead to lost of lives.   This means that the people of South Sudan should avoid eating of bush meats and also eating of birds.   More to follow shortly.... 

Over 200 South Sudanese Murdered In The Latest Crackdown In Khartoum

South Sudanese Human Rights activist in Khartoum Sudan confirmed that the military forces in Khartoum are targeting South Sudanese mostly.   The crackdown on the protesters led to lost of over 250 South Sudanese which have been target in most of the urban centers in Sudan.   Since the beginning of the crackdown eleven days the number of the murdered South Sudanese has been increasing.   One resident Achol Malong said that “The situations of South Sudanese here is not good completely,. A big number of them have been killed during the time of launching a violent attack on protesters in Khartoum, and even yesterday there was a very serious shooting in Jebel Aulia refugee’s camp by the rapid support forces." South Sudan President Office Defends The Sacking Of Oil And Petroleum Minister

Hon. Ezekiel Gatkuoth was sacked by South Sudan President while on a trip abroad but the office of the President said the sacking was just a normal routine.  The president’s spokesman Ateny Wek told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that Kiir’s decision to remove Ezekiel was informed by need to appoint a new minister. Ateny Wek the President spokesman said that “These are normal routine changes that happen.” The Spokesman of the president further added that ” He [Ezekiel] was supposed to return from the official mission to Russia but he delayed. UNMISS Completed The Repair Of 2500kms Of Inter-State Roads

Over 2500 kilometers of road have been successfully repaired by UMISS United Mission In South Sudan. The road is meant to foster economic growth for the Country.    The newly repaired roads and bridges will connect Juba to Bentiu,  Juba to Bor and Malakal respectfully.   David Shearer the head of UNMISS said that “the efforts of our engineers to rehabilitate major supply routes will make a big difference to people’s lives, In many areas where roads have been improved, we have seen a decrease in violence between groups and an increase in reconciliation and peace-building activities.” He added that “improved access will also encourage trade, create jobs and economic growth.”   The road will not only improve economic activities but will render humanitarian agencies to access the hard to reach areas.   The repaired roads will also save South Sudanese millions of pounds since air transport is very expensive.   More to follow shortly.... 

South Sudan President Has Sacked Oil Minister Hon. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth

Hon. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth the Oil Minister has been sacked by South Sudan President His Excellency Salva Kiir.  The former Minister of petroleum who is also a strong ally of South Sudan Vice President Gen. Taban Deng Gai held the oil minister position since 2016. The decree also dismiss Jonglei State  Governor Philip Aguer Panyang.  In a a series of decrees Mr.  Daniel Chuang will replace Ezekiel Lol has the new Oil Minister in South Sudan.   Currently it pumps about 175,000 barrels per day of crude oil. Interior Minister Summoned By Parliament To Explain His Order To Shoot Motorist With Tinted Windows

South Sudan National Parliament summoned Mr. Michael Chiengjiek the Minister Of Interior over his order to shoot motorist with tinted windows.   His orders were made last week exactly on Friday branding motorist with tinted windows as criminals or those with numberless number plate.   The Minister of Interior order caused a public outcry from the public. The lawyers and civil activist when as far as quoting the the constitution Act,  2003. The act do not state anything to do with tinted windows.  The speaker of the parliament during the parliamentary session Hon. Royal High School Riot In Bor Leaves Four Police Officers and Two Students Injured

Royal High Secondary school riot in Bor leaves two boys and four police officers injured. Jonglei State government has said in a statement that two boys were injured by stray bullets after police shot into the air to quell a riot by secondary school students. The incident took place this morning in Royal High School, Bor. The State Minister of Information, Atong Kuol Manyang alleges that the students had locked the main gate and some teachers inside the offices prompting the headmaster to call the police. When the police arrived, the student hurled stones at the police causing the police to respond by firing into the air. The Minister adds that a stray bullet that was shot into the air fell onto a 10 year old boy’s foot some 200m away. A 20 year student was also shot in the thigh by a suspected stray bullet. Detained Journalist In Western Lakes State Released By National Security

The National Security detained and then released a journalist who is working for the State Radio known as Rumbek 98 FM and part time for Juba Monitor and Gurtong Trust.     He said that he was interviewing one of the suspect who was injured and was believed to be behind the killing of a National Security Officer.     In his own words: “I went to the state hospital, looking for medical personnel working in surgical ward for an interview. When I failed to get them, I decided to reach patient wounded during the fight between Gelweng youth and security forces which were coming from Juba.”   He added that when the National Security Officers saw him talking to the suspect, they immediately arrested.    In how own words: “The group of NSS came and I was taken to Makoi’s National Security offices, were I have spent my night in the cell but they didn’t beat me.”  The Journalist Mr. Mabor Riak Magok is also the secretary of the journalist Union in the Lakes region.    

Test On Food Samples Confirms WFP (South Sudan) Food Is Fit For Human Consumption

Just a month ago report of food poisoning of over 30 cases was brought to day light by South Sudan Food Security Council. The report indicated that over 30 cases of food poisoning was found and it indicated that the food being provided by the World Food Program (WFP) Was the source of the food poisoning.  The report forced World Food Program to run test samples on the food and the result is that the food is fit for human consumption. The food poisoning occurred in Southern Unity, Gogrial and Aweil since all the reported cases indicated that victims ate the sorghum ratio provided by the WFP. Mr. Thompson Phiri who is the communication officer said that the community should try and investigate other sources of the food poisoning since it has nothing to do with the food ration provided by WFP. Former Western Lakes State Governor Stole Over 10 Million SSP Meant For Students After Being Sacked

Mr. William Kirjok who was the former Deputy Governor of Western Lakes State confirmed that his boss the Governor took the money which was meant for students and salary of the teachers in the state.  The Scandal arises when teachers started to complained over unpaid incentives and the capitation grant for the students was not released by the state authorities.  One of the Rumbek University Students Union leaders Mr Makur Gum said that the scandal have paralyzed all educational activities in the state and teachers are also sleeping of hunger.   On his part the former governor has denied all this accusation and he is pointing fingers to the minister of finance in the state.   The Scandal have raised concerned that it might be a scheme by the governor and his boys from the State Ministry.   Here is a brief summary of the Capitation Grant. Human Organ Traffickers Targeting South Sudanese In Cairo

Recent reports have been emerging of human organ traffickers targeting South Sudanese in Egypt. This has led to fear and panic among the South Sudanese residing in Egypt confirms the South Sudanese leader in Egypt.   The fear and panic emerges after gruesome images and reports emerging from Egypt in which mostly of the victims are South Sudanese.   Just a day ago one of the victims Mother confirms that a 33 year old woman died in Cairo Hospital under mysterious circumstances. Most of the victims when found dead some of their organs are missing. Western Lakes Governor Swore To Improve Security In His State

Mr.  Mahmud Solomon the newly appointment governor of Western Lakes State has assured the people of peace and security and also development.     The Governor spoke during a rally at Rumbek.  He told the people not to fear but embrace better and Greater day coming.  Since through security everything will be fine.   Mostly he was not happy with the current trend in revenge killing which has already destroyed the image of the state.   Mr.  Solomon Was appointed on 20th May, 2019 by His Excellency Salva Kiir the South Sudan President.  Mr. Solomon replaced Brigadier General John Deng Mamer.    Mr.  Solomon was accompanied by senior members of the government. United Nations Demands South Sudan Government and Warring parties to implement the peace deal or face consequences from United Nations and other nations.   United Nations Mission In South Sudan Chairperson Of Torit Head Office urges the government and other warring parties to implement the signed peace agreement Mr. Bashir Allegele in his own words said that “Today we have more than 3800 military police and civilians that have lost their lives since 1949 in these 72 missions to ensure that other people have peace in their countries. We have to continue the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement so that South Sudan will achieve peace, sustainability, development and progress in the near future”. He also insists that the United Nations is committed to protect South Sudan civilians at any cost until peace is fully achieved in all parts of South Sudan.  The officer was speaking during the 72 anniversary of the United Nations Peace Keepers in Torit South Su
