Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. The Catholic Diocese of Yei Bishop Erkolano Tombe today has declared that there is no peace in Yei River State. Due to the current ongoing conflict between the three arm forces including South Sudan Peoples Defence force (SSPDF), National Salvation Front (NAS) and South Sudan People Liberation Movement In Opposition (SPLM/A-IO ). The Bishop Erkolano Tomber uttered the statement at the comfort of his home on Sunday. The Bishop further calls on the warring parties in  Yei River State  to respect the cessation of hostilities which they signed and stop the confrontation which is currently on going in Yei River County. South Sudan again is under the spotlight for the wrong reason due to the recent emergence of the latest rape allegations levelled against its soldiers. The previous known SPLMA was believed to have committed various atrocities in the Bentiu area and it was alleged that the government soldiers were using rape as a weapon against the uprising in greater Bentiu. South Sudanese businessmen have been ambushed along the Central Africa Republic boarder and were shot dead but a group of pastoralist who operates along the South Sudan – Central Africa Republic boarder point. A South Sudanese Woman from Kalobeyei settlement area allegedly stabbed her husband multiple times to death with a kitchen knife. The woman and the husband recently moved to Kalobeyei Settlement area from Kalobeyei due to the harsh conditions associated with Kakuma Refugee camp. According to the relatives and the neighbours, they said that the husband of the woman is working as a gardener in Kakuma. His work is mainly to maintain the UNHCR compound clean and clear any litter or grass that might be growing in the UNHCR compound. It was not immediately established the reasons why the woman opted to stab the husband multiple times to death. But after further investigation, the Niece of the deceased man who goes by nickname Disco said that the two quarrel over food. Rebel Group In South Sudan Released 3,500 Child Soldiers and Girls

Rebel group in South Sudan commonly known as the South Sudan National Liberation Movement ( SSNLM) confirms today that they have released over 3,500 children they had in their custody since the war broke in South Sudan. The children they had in their custody were trained as soldiers in order to help their movement in fighting the government. 48 or fourty children are girls which they used as their wives and the rest were soldiers to fight for them. The Ethiopian military helicopter carrying Ethiopian soldiers crashed in Abyei resulting to death of three peace keepers and scores have sustained injuries. This was one of the report released by UNISFA team working. The Ethiopian Military helicopter was carrying roughly around 25 soldiers and the helicopter was making it’s way back from the war hotbed in Kadugli zone in Sudan. A mother of five children committed suicide in Kakuma Refugee Camp.

Yesterday  Kakuma Refugee Camp  came to a stand-still when a mother of five children committed suicide. The woman resides in Kakuma One, Block 12. The deceased woman has given birth to five children. Juba Wire at the Headquarters in Juba decided to send one of its staff who reports cases of incidents happening in Kakuma and Kalobeyei said that the woman decided to end her life after the husband deserted her and escaped to South Sudan for over two years now. Neighbours and family members also added that life became hard for the woman since she had five children to fend for. She had to buy school uniforms for the children and also cloth the children and also food for the children. The ration given in the camp is not enough to cater for them and this are some of the main reason to why she might have opted to end her life prematurely. South Sudan Council Of Churches Reminds The Warring Parties To Respect Ceasefire

Fr. James Oyet the general secretary of the Southern Sudan Council of Churches said that “The truth is, if you don’t compromise for the love of South Sudan, then it is you.”   Fr. James was making this statement in relations to the views of the Southern Sudan Council of Churches. Fr. James Oyet statement came after various reports of ceasefire violation in the Equatoria region at large. The decree was that no witchcraft activity will be conducted in the municipality since it is a religious town. Meet Lou Buol Mayen who emerged as the top PLE pupil in the recent PLE exams scoring a total of 490 out of 500 marks. The girl who was learning at Marty’s Academy in Jonglei State did the impossible only missing 10 to score a hundred percent. Lou Buol Mayen is 16 years of age.
