Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. High Level Revitalization Forum Date Changed From Date 2 to 17

IGAD or Intergovernmental Authority On Development  have again postponed the most anticipated third phase of the High Level Revitalization Forum from date 2 to date 17 the same month. IGAD Council of Ministers in a statement that was released on Thursday says that it adjourns the Forum after thorough deliberation and assessing the position of the parties during their meeting. The IGAD Statement explains that one of the major reason for the postponed Forum was to allow diplomacy meetings with the both parties to the conflict so that they can have a meaningful outcome of the negotiation. The group deliberated on the outcomes of the diplomacy meetings held with opposition groups, SPLM/A-IO, civil society groups and other stakeholders. The meeting agreed to narrow wide gaps that still exist among different groups to achieve lasting peace. Nepal Peace Keepers Accused Of Child Rape In South Sudan

The section of the peace UN peace keepers in South Sudan that hails from Nepal have been accused of multiple child rape in the New Nation confirms the the UN Spokesman. The UN Spokesman Mr. Stephane Dujarric said that "Any act of sexual abuse is horrendous," and also "one involving a child is especially heinous." The UN have called the Nepalese government to start and investigation immediately into the matter. The allegation was received this month after a similar allegations was also received in February when 46 UN peace keepers from Ghana were recalled from their base in South Sudan due to similar allegations. The UN Secretary General Mr. Antonio Guterres has swear to toughen the UN system and take serious measures against the parties that are involved in misconduct and sex allegation in the new nation. SPLA Soldiers Wounded In Northern Liech State After Clashing With SPLA-IO

Four SPLA soldiers clashed with Forces Loyal to Dr. Riek Machar wounding more than 4 SPLA soldiers in Northern Liech State. Northern Liech spokesperson Mr. Lam Tungwar confirms that the forces clashed at Bentiu and Nhialdhiu. This is what Mr. Lam had to say “We actually proved right on date 11, [April] when they actually attacked the convoy of SPLA sent by the government of Northern Liech to go and check on Nhialdiu and that clashes actually have to be pursued by the government forces. South Sudan National Assembly has failed to conduct its sitting on Tuesday the reason is that the microphones failed to work. The meeting was meant to hear answers from a group of ministers that were earlier summoned by the parliamentarians for questioning regarding their offices.   Five ministers, Mayor and Central Bank Governor were supposed to appear before lawmakers to answer questions regarding their files, says Paul Yoane Bonju, chairperson of Information Committee of Communication in the Parliament. Prostitution Is Banned and Considered Illegal In Juba South Sudan

The Governor of Juba State says that it has already in plan to crack down on Prostitutes in Jubek State, he says any person who will be arrested for involvement in the commercial sex business will not be pardoned.  The Governor Of Jubek State Mr. Augustino Jadallah Wani says the government has been cracking down illegals and also arresting those they believed are involved in the activity.   He further said that those arrested in connection with the behavior are currently undergoing trials in the court. The governor assures that the security situation in the city is calm.   Some South Sudanese who are involved in the business special the ladies are crying that it is their only source of income since if they don't do so they will never get food for the family.   More to follow shortly........... 

General Paul Malong Awan Forms His Own Rebel Movement

Former South Sudan Chief of Staffs General Paul Malong  decided to form his own party on Monday. The party will be called South Sudan United Front and it emphasize on building  string institutions than strong men. Mr. Malong said that “Our movement is a just and urgent call to our compatriots and a struggle to first arrest the carnage that has befell our country and secondly to steer us towards democracy and development , which are the cornerstones of nationhood, an African nationhood of democracy , development, equal citizenry, justice and freedom. He further reiterate that “Our movement seeks to reverse this. We must build our nationhood around strong institutions and not strongmen. Strong institutions will outlive all of us and guarantee the prosperity of our nation. This is what we yearn for in our country." Mr. Malong is calling for South Sudanese to see and open their eyes since the country is being driven by impunity.

South Sudan Government Has Other Options If Peace Talks Fails With The Oppositions

The South Sudan Spokesperson said that the government of South Sudan will decide other options if talks with the opposition fails in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.  After the council of ministers meeting on Friday, when Mr. Makuei Lueth was asked to mention the other options he failed to mention it.  He adds that the government is still focusing on the High-Level Revitalization Forum schedule to take place this month. The government recently has registered its displeasure about the venue being still in Ethiopia. They want the venue to change because of the political situation in Ethiopia. The Government Spokesman further said that the government team is ready to go to Ethiopia this month for the Next round of the Revitalization Forum. The next round of the High-Level Revitalization Forum is expected to take place on April 26 in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. More to follow shortly....

Vivacell Closure Is Affecting Money Transfer Business

South Sudanese money transfer operators are complaining that the closure if Vivacell telecommunication has affected their operation. One of the Branch Manager of Wanhalel Money Transfer Company some of their branches such as Romic and Ngapagok have been closed down because they don't have a better mobile network in their area.   One operator pointed out that MTN network sometimes is very difficult to reach and it is inefficient.   The Branch manager of Nyamale Money Transfer says MTN network is often Congested  which inefficient and ineffective it to transfer money. The Money transfer companies are calling on the government to cooperate with Vivacell Company so as to re-open the network. More to follow shortly....  

High expectations lead to the collapse of the recent peace talk

Torit State Speaker Mr. Odwar Admits today that due to high expectations in the recent revitalization forum has led to the collapse of the peace talk in Addis Ababa Ethiopia has he tells the citizens of South Sudan. He further reiterated that most of the parties were concentrating on their political interests instead of focusing on the real cause of conflicts in the country. He also points out that the high demand of President Salva Kiir to step down from leadership will not bring about lasting solution to South Sudan’s conflicts but calls for unity among us South Sudanese.  The Speaker urges the South Sudanese to have hope in the peace process because it is the only way peace might be achieved in South Sudan. Mr.Odwar said that some conditions that led to the failure of the second phase of the high level revitalization forum include reducing members of parliament and ministers, dissolving SPLM parties among others. South Sudan Army Invades Uganda

South Sudan People’s Liberation Army yesterday night got involved in a serious gunfight with the (UPDF) Uganda People’s Defence Force. The main reason of the show down is because UPDF believes SPLA Army has Invaded Uganda. It is believed that the South Sudan People’s Army (SPLA) has entered the counry through the West Nile Region into the following areas; Metu and Dufele in the District of Moyo. The West Nile regional police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia said the militants were suspected to be harboring the intentions of looting cattle from the residents. UNMISS Human Right Director Said The Warlords In The Ongoing South Sudan Civil Should Be Held Accountable Countless Loss Of Civilians life.

The UNMISS Human Rights Director has said that the lack of accountability in the on going war is a big challenge in South Sudan.  Says Mr. Eugene Nindorera. The killing of civilians in Wau town followed the ambush and killing of the SPLA soldiers by suspected SPLA-In Opposition fighters. Mr. Nindorea further said “I can confirm that, as of Sunday, nobody is being detained in connection with this attack against civilians,”  Nindorera. “I talked to victims and witnesses and was shaken to hear their testimonies of how they had to flee their houses after being attacked. It’s more important than ever before that people are held accountable for the crimes they have committed.” Mr. Nindorera was in Wau Protection Site when he had talked to the victims of the violence that is currently on going in the country between the government and the In Opposition. Imatong State To be Changed Into Torit State

Imatong State has been now approved into Torit State after a series of consultations from the council of States in Juba. Mr. Charles Udwar Ukech the Imatong Assembly Speaker says that the motion was to deliberate on for long before being passed by the state assembly, pending resolutions and execution.   Mr. Tobiolo Alberio Oromo the State Governor while reading the council of the States resolution breaks the news in a public rally at Torit Freedom Square.   The name takes effect immediately after the declaration, he announces. Governor Alberio says the change of the state’s name is a demand of the people of Torit. As the state citizens wait to adopt the name, some people in Torit have different reaction over the changes. Joseph Bol Chan was the one chairing the meeting when the Council of states reached the resolution in it's ordinary sitting on Thursday March 22 in Juba.   A similar change of the name also occurred to the neighboring state of Kapoeta f
